  1. Read Our Community Guidelines
  2. Navigate the MEA Community
  3. Update Your Email Notification Preferences
  4. Engage in Discussions
  5. Update Your Community Profile
  6. Search the MEA Member Directory
  7. Need More Help?

1. Read Our Community Guidelines

Before getting started, please read our Community Guidelines to learn about community participation, rules and etiquette, legal information, and our privacy policy. The first time you access the Community platform, you will be required to review and agree to these terms. You may also find the Community Guidelines page under the Communities tab in the navigation bar.

Now that you have read and accepted our guidelines, you will be automatically enrolled into the MEA Member Community and subscribed to receive daily digest emails.

2. Navigate the MEA Community

The community platform has a fresh new look! We have redesigned the community to deliver a smoother, more engaging, and personalized experience that makes it easier than ever to connect and contribute.

Watch this video to learn how to navigate the new homepage!

3. Update Your Email Notification Preferences

If you want to change your community notification preferences, you can edit them in within your Profile.

To change the frequency of how many emails you receive for new discussions, go to the My Account tab and select Community Notifications.

You will be presented with a table, listing the community(ies) you belong to as well as options to edit your email digests. For each community you have the option to receive discussion emails in real-time, as a daily digest, or not at all for each community you are a member of.

If you do not wish to receive multiple emails everyday for each community that you belong to, we recommend subscribing to our consolidated daily digest emails or our consolidated weekly digest emails. These will allow you to receive one email everyday or one email every week for ALL of the community discussions that you are a member of.

To change this preference, select no email for each of the communities you belong to.

Then check off consolidated daily, consolidated weekly, or both for all of the communities you are a member of.

If you would like to turn off emails completely, go back to the My Account tab and click Email Preferences.

Here you can toggle on or off community emails completely. You can also toggle on or off whether or not you would like to receive participation emails. These emails reflect one-on-one interactions (ex: reply to sender, contact requests, mentions, real time notifications).

4. Engage in Discussions

There are three ways to post a discussion:

1. From any page on the community, click the Create teal button next to your profile image in navigation. From here you can choose to start a discussion, Q&A thread, or library entry.

2. From the homepage under the Quick Links menu, click Start a Discussion.

3. From within the desired community, you can add a new discussion post by selecting the Threads tab and then clicking on Start New Thread in the top left corner of the screen.

After choosing any of the options above, you will then be prompted to enter your subject, choose the community or communities you wish to post this discussion to, type your message, attach any necessary documents, and then click Post.

You can also schedule the post for later or save it as a draft.

5. Update Your Community Profile

Completing your MEA Community Profile will help you easily find and connect with other MEA Members. You can edit your Profile by clicking the link above or by navigating to your profile photo or avatar in the top right corner and selecting profile.

MEA has populated your profile with some basic contact information from our records. If any of this information is incorrect, please
reach out to Member Support and request the change to your account.

Under the My Profile tab, you may add a bio, profile photo, education, job history, professional associations, and more.

If you would not like to be a part of the member directory, you can opt out of this in the Privacy Settings tab under the My Account menu.

6. Search the MEA Member Directory

You can find other MEA members by clicking on the Directory tab in the navigation bar.

Search by first name, last name, company name, email address, city, country, or state. There are also a few advanced options you can add to your search: community and community type.

Once you’ve found who you’re searching for, you can view profiles, send messages, or add them as a contact directly from the search results page.
